Hey, we’re the carpenters.

The ‘Tala’ in our name stands for Tiana, Aria, Lachlan, and Alex. Because we do this for the love of preserving the breed, together.

It started off as wanting to add a miniature pony (a.k.a an Irish Wolfhound) to our pack. Then it turned into a large idea that my entire family stood behind. And I couldn’t do this without them. Without the support of my husband Alex, cuddles from our three year old son Lachlan, and all the amazing help from my beautiful daughter, Aria- this wouldn’t be possible.

We aim to help stabilize the integrity of the breed, better it when and if possible, and to love our large fur babies all the times in between.

Our dogs are not breeding machines to us, they’re our family. The puppies, the honor to help maintain the breed, and experiencing the life they create and trust us with is just an amazing bonus.

our goals

We are preservation breeders, we breed solely for the preservation of the bloodline, health and longevity of the breed. So, what does that mean?

Preserving irish wolfhounds from ever decreasing numbers

Unfortunately, Irish Wolfhounds were placed on the ‘Most Endangered’ list by the UK Kennel Club and Belfast Live in 2022. The number of litters registered every year declines. This breed has gone nearly extinct once before in the 1800’s, and we breed out of the main interest of keeping it alive.

Preserving the historic traits and functions of the irish wolfhound

Preserving the traits and functions of the Irish Wolfhound is crucial for maintaining the breed's unique characteristics and purpose. Breeding programs and adherence to breed standards help ensure the continuation of the breed's strength, speed, and endurance for hunting, as well as its affectionate and gentle nature.
